Chicago World’s Fair Jewelry

We love collecting vintage jewelry and recently we can’t get enough of the Chicago World’s Fair bracelets. The fair was themed “A Century of Progress”, and attendees were so delighted at what they saw at the fair that it was extended into 1934.

The fair had some amazing events including an appearance of the Graf Zeppelin. There were also some exciting American automobiles – Cadillac’s presentation of a V-16 limo, Lincoln’s presentation of a concept car with a rear engine and the fabulous Pierce Silver Arrow designed by James R. Hughes. Also exhibited was the famous “Zephyr,” the first streamlined train of the Union Pacific Railroad. Check out the Zeppelin in one of our favorite bracelets below.

Pink Neck Pillow

After the long nights and early mornings in Vegas, it was great to grab some well deserved rest on the plane. Of course, it took using a newly bought pink neck pillow to get a good sleep. The pic below is not the pillow that was bought but it was similar.

They look funny,but boy do the work! Looking forward to a restful weekend.

Last day of WWD MAGIC

Thank you to all the people who helped make our WWD MAGIC 2011 show a huge success! After packing up our booth and trailer, it was off to Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel with our lovely models Dana, Chealse and Cory. If you are ever in Vegas, check out Criss Angel Believe at the Luxor, it was a fantastic show and was throughly enjoyed. Keep posted for news on our next event. We would love to see you come out!

Benihana

After a long day, we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at Benihana. Benihana is an amazing experience! The food was delicious, and maybe was the best chicken fried rice we’ve ever had! And the traditional japanese soft drink “Ramuné” would have been the highlight, if it was not for the chef.

The personality of the chef alone is already entertaining, but it becomes a show when he performs tricks with the knives, forks, spices and even the food. Our personal favorite is the onion volcano! Unfortunately, we were unable to capture it, but we took some other pictures of the decors (which we loved) and our chef to give you a taste of the experience.

Las Vegas Strip

Last night, we decided to peruse Las Vegas. We wandered up the Strip. Mesmerized by the bright lights and crowds. We saw street performers, showgirls and even characters like Donald Duck! Next we walked by the Bellagio and watched the fountains dance to “Singin’ in the Rain”. Here’s a pic that reminded us of Ocean’s Eleven-one of our favorite movies.

We then continued on and passed by Caesar’s Palace and the Mirage. Here is a picture of a coin we found at Caesar’s Palace.

Just as we were nearing the Treasure Island Hotel, we heard the sounds of canons exploding and decided to check it out. The show was really exciting! There were lots of special effects and the pirate ships were awesome. Unfortunately, because of the crowds we couldn’t get any pictures. Finally, we hopped in a cab after a long night and headed back to the hotel.

Paris Hotel

After a busy day in the hot Las Vegas sun. We decided to have dinner at the Mon Ami Gabi Restaurant in Paris.

We had a delectable meal. And the restaurant even offered gluten free options. So excited! We tried the French onion soup, mussels and steak frites. What a meal! After we decided to check out the sights of Paris. Here’s a quick snap of the Eiffel Tower!

The Cosmopolitan Hotel

We decided to check out the Cosmopolitan Hotel for cocktails. We love all their sparkles, diamonds. Here is a snap of a black jack table and the cocktail lounge “The Chandelier”.

We loved their cool giftshop “Droog.” Check out this hot pink ring we picked up. We love the idea of a pig wearing pearls! So cute!

Bryce Canyon National Park

We love visiting our National Parks and Bryce Canyon is definitely one of our favs! Million of years of geological mayhem has shaped and etched the the pink cliffs at Bryce. We drove in the dark late last night and snapped up spot 24 (only three remained!) and woke up to the most amazing view. Tomorrow Las Vegas!

Salinas, Utah

Lookin’ for breakfast and boy, did we find it at Mom’s Cafe in Salinas, Utah. True to its name the food was as good as mom’s. Can’t beat their pancakes!
